Established by Samuel Ganz and sons Jack and Sam in 1950, GANZ is now headed by the founder's grandson, Howard Ganz. Corporate Headquarters are located in Toronto, Canada. For over 50 years, GANZ has been a source for teddies that capture the hearts of young and old alike.
Knowing that everyone needs a special friend, GANZ created their "Cottage Collectibles" friends, a now retired line of 'artist designed' keepsake teddies. Almost all are fully jointed. Every bear in the line has unique and huggable qualities that make him or her very, very special. "Cottage Collectibles" from GANZ featured the designs of Lorraine Chien, Mary Holstad, Carol E. Kirby, Christy Rave, Cathrine Tredger, Sue Coe, and Teri Zanetti. Although the line included some mohair designs, most of the collection featured plush designs.
For a brief period after the retirement of the "Cottage Collectibles" line, Lorraine Chien and GANZ joined forces to release another unique set of teddies -- the "GANZ Cottage" line. The "Heritage Collection" is a still active line. Within the "Heritage Collection", they continue to create fine-quality and absolutely irresistible plush teddies in sizes from itty-bitty to larger than life. GANZ is also the home of the popular "Wee Bear Village" line. These delightful little bears dress up in charming disguises. Some pretend to be fierce jungle beasts, some prefer to be family pets, and some like to dress as the professionals they'll be when they're all grown up.
Most of the GANZ bears you'll find at 'Everything Teddy Bear' are from the extensive retired 'Cottage Collectibles' line. Unique 'Heritage Collection' and "Wee Bear Village" bears show up once in a while. If you are searching for a specific retired GANZ bear, let us know. We might have it or may be able to find it for you.
