Fun and Educational: Costal Cubs®
The Coastal Cubs® Collection is a family of bean-bag bear cubs issued by LERC, a private North Carolina company. Each bear is made out of a unique color velor, with a different United States coastal landmark stitched onto its chest. Initially most of the landmarks honored were coastal lighthouses and thus the series unofficially is called 'The Lighthouse Bears'.
LERC does NOT sell retail nor do they sponsor/offer any 'club' arrangements for retail sales. The Coastal Cubs® are available only at authorized retail outlets (primary market prices range from $6 to $8.50 -- higher for special holiday or commemorative bears) or at secondary marketplace outlets (LIKE US!!).Each cub is approximately 9 inches tall and is issued with a hang tag on its left ear. The inside of the hang tag presents a brief fact about the landmark honored.
LERC combined the popular bean-bag style with educational information about historical landmarks in hopes that children and their parents will minimally become familiar with the landmarks, and may even want to research and learn more about them.
